Asian Gasing competition
In general there are two type of gasing contest. The first type is comprised of spinning competition & the second contest is fighting contest. These two type of contest will take different prerequisite & attainment given by the player. According to Sheppard inside the book Taman Indera, top which are use for contest shall measuring 23 cms on diameters. I personally might go in more depth on this competition later on.
Spinning contest
When judging spinning competition, the most important
measuring expects into account are the absolutely balanced top which are able
to stay spinning for long period. The top which may spin in most tenacious time
can be announced as winner. It is normal for the good and quality top to
spin for nearly two hours without display whatever sign of sway or irregular
oscillation.
In spinning contest, there come two player in a team. One is the spinner and the other one is scooper. Two player have to be expert for the team to succeed. The spinner might be the one that make the spinning. He have to have very firm leg, pelvic and arm muscles. This is because the thrower might use his entirely body in spinning the top.
The scooper, in the other hand might have another set of accomplishment. He must have extremely quick reflexes and be able to attach the rapidly spinning top so that the top may continue to spin. This skill is important because he must not distrup the top While he scoop it to put into the stand.
After the top is set on top of their particular stand, it may continue to spin and it also have to remain perfectly upright.
Fighting competition
In top fighting competition, the
player in each team is more than the spinning competition. The player on
each team could range from three to five personal. While this competition is
someway demand specific skill & could be unsafe, only adult could participate
this type of contest.
In this type of contest, there is constituted of two team involve. The competition lead off with the number one team spin their top, and then followed by the second team- which they got to hit one of the first team’s top.
However, in doing this, hitting more than one top is in admissible.
Since hitting the top may cause damage to the tops, there are some regulation to observe. The rule are that the striker’s top (the second team’s top) need to keep to spin when it hit the first top (their opponent’s top). The point may be given to the team that may hit the top if his top continue to spin. This can take turn & the team that can get the most point of the day will be the winner for the first ‘round’. This type of contest can drag up to few days, which I believed will be based on the organizer or based to the local rule.
