Indonesia Gasing competition
Normally there is comprised of two type of gasing contest. The first type constitutes spinning contest & the 2nd competition is fighting competition. These two type of contest shall involve different requirement and accomplishment coming from the player. According to Sheppard in the book Taman Indera, top which will be use for competition may measure 23 centimeters in diameters. I shall go in extra depth pertaining to this contest later.
Spinning competition
When judging spinning competition, the 1st
measure involves into account will be the perfectly balanced top which will be capable
to remain spinning for long time period. The top which can spin in longest time
will be declared as winner. It is normal for the good & quality top to
spin for about two hours without display any indicate of sway or irregular
oscillation.
In spinning competition, there will be two player in a team. One is constituted of the spinner & the additional one will be scooper. 2 player must be skillful for the team to succeed. The spinner will be the one that start the spinning. He must have extremely tough leg, pelvic and arm muscles. This is because the thrower will uses his whole body in spinning the top.
The scooper, in the other hand shall need different set of skill. He should have very fast reflexes and be able to capture the rapidly spinning top so that the top shall remain to spin. This skill is necessary because he must not distrup the top Whenever he lift out it to put into the stand.
Whenever the top is placed on top of their particular stand, it shall keep to spin and it also require remain perfectly upright.
Fighting contest
In top fighting competition, the
player in both team are bound to be more than the spinning competition. The player within
every team can range from three to five person. As this competition is
someways use special skill & can be unsafe, merely adult can wear
this type of competition.
In this nature of competition, there came two team involve. The contest start out with the lead off team spin their top, then followed by the 2nd team- which they had to hit one of the first team’s top.
However, in doing this, hitting extra than one top is in admissible.
Since hitting the top will cause damage to the tops, there is a couple rule to observe. The regulation is that the striker’s top (the second team’s top) should stay to spin once it hit the first top (their opponent’s top). The point can be given to the team that could hit the top while his top continue to spin. This may take turn & the team that can get the most point of the day will be the winner for the first ‘round’. This type of competition can drag up to few days, which I believed will be based on the organizer or based to the local rule.
